Who is Shakira? Shakira Mebarak Ripoll. Colombian singer/songwriter. Shakira has fans all around the world. She goes by her first name only. Shakira is Arabic for "woman full of grace". She signed a record deal with Sony Latin when she was only 13 and her first CD, Magia was released. Two CDs later, she became known around the world when the hit single, Estoy Aqui was released off her 3rd CD, Pies Descalzos. She has released three CDs since. Donde Estan los Ladrones?, MTV Unplugged, which is collection of songs performed live, and her very first English language album, Laundry Service. |
